
PATHANAMTHITTA: The survivor's complaint said Rahul Mamkootathil MLA met her via social media when she was going through marital issues. After being in a relationship with the MLA, he asked me to divorce my husband. Her statement to the investigation team was that Rahul had promised to marry her.
After the woman became pregnant, she wanted a DNA test to be done. When she asked him to give his samples, Rahul did not cooperate with it. The complainant told the investigation team that she has clear evidence for it.
'Rahul insisted that he wanted a child so that she would not leave him. Rahul said that he wanted a child if his family should agree for the marriage. Rahul wanted to meet her in person. When she asked to meet him at a restaurant, he said that since he is an MLA, he could not meet her in a public place. He suggested the name of the hotel and asked her to book a room there. After reaching the room, he attacked her and abused her brutally before she could say anything.
After slapping her, he spat on her and inflicted injuries in many places. He had sex with her even after she told him that it was her ovulation date and that he wanted a baby. He later asked her to meet him again, but she did not go. When she told her that she was pregnant, he hurled abuses at her. He abused her by saying that she is carrying someone else's baby. Following this, she went for a DNA test. After this, there was intense pressure from Rahul to abort the baby. Humiliation and threats continued. This put her under severe mental stress,' the woman said in her statement.
The woman said that when she tried to inform him about the miscarriage, Rahul blocked her on phone and email. She later informed Rahul's friend and assistant, Feni Nainan. She also revealed that these incidents left her in severe physical and mental depression.
Rahul contacted her again during the Palakkad by-election, pretending that nothing has happened. The woman alleged that he tried to emotionally bring her under his control after promising to live together. He wanted her to buy a flat in Palakkad and live there after marriage.
Although approached the Billtech Group for a flat, it did not materialize. However, Rahul has received financial assistance from her on several occasions. Her complaint said that she had bought him expensive watches, clothes, shoes and beauty products.
The woman realized that her experiences were true when other sexual harassment complaints were levelled against Rahul. When she decided to move forward legally, Rahul threatened to destroy her and her family. The woman's statement also states that there was a threat of harming her parents and sister.
Rahul, who was arrested Sunday early morning will be produced in the court today. Rahul, taken into custody from Palakkad was brought to Pathanamthitta A R Camp and then his arrest was registered . After interrogation, he will be produced in the Thiruvalla Magistrate Court. The woman in her new statement said Rahul abused her brutally.
With the new complaint, there are now three rape cases against Rahul. Her complaint said that he forced her to buy a flat in Palakkad and exploited her financially. Rahul raped the woman in Thiruvalla. Rahul was taken into custody in a decisive move by the police in the morning.
