KOCHI: Supplyco markets will henceforth give non-subsidised products at a 10 per cent discount in addition to all discounts to women customers. If you buy an item for Rs. 1,000, it will be reduced by about Rs. 100. Civil Supplies Minister G.R. Anil said that the offer will come into effect from Kerala Piravi Day, which is November 1. There are also plans to provide more benefits to all consumers through privilege cards. The minister was inaugurating the closing ceremony of Supplyco's golden jubilee celebrations, which have been going on for a year, in Bolgatty.
Supplyco will start operations with a target of Rs 250 crore per month, including opening mobile supermarkets in all 140 constituencies from November 1.
The benefit of price reductions due to GST restructuring has been fully passed on to consumers. The minister said that Supplyco's Sabari products will be marketed in other outlets as well.
K.N. Unnikrishnan MLA presided over the inaugural ceremony. CEO V.M. Jayakrishnan presented 'Vision 30', containing the future plans of Supplyco. Former Managing Directors Gigi Thomson, M.S. Jaya, P.M. Ali Asghar Pasha, Dr Sanjeeb Patjoshi, Dr Sriram Venkitaraman and others spoke at the event. Supplyco honoured former Managing Directors and former General Managers.
New plans:
1. 20 kg of parboiled rice at a subsidised rate for ration cards. Currently, it is 10 kg.
2. 30 Maveli stores will be upgraded to supermarkets and 15 Maveli stores to super stores.
3. Six new petrol pumps will be opened.
4. In December, supermarkets in Thalassery, Ernakulam and Kottayam will be converted into Signature Marts.
