26-year-old groom dies in accident on eve of wedding

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A 26-year-old groom died in an accident on the eve of his wedding day. The accident happened last night at 11 pm near Mankuzhy in Sreekaryam. The accident happened after a KSRTC Swift electric bus collided with a bike. The dead is Rajesh, son of Rajan Ashari of Rohini at Chellamangalam ward in Pangappara. He was a CCTV technician.

The tragic incident happened when his wedding was to take place today at the temple in Vazhavila. He was in a relationship with a woman of Vazhavila. Though the girl’s family was not against the marriage, his family had opposed the relationship. Some of his relatives said that he was staying in a rented house in Kattaikonam arranged by the girl’s family after leaving his house.

All arrangements for the wedding were done by her family. The bike rammed on to the electric bus which was returning after charging. He leaves behind his mother Sreelatha and sister Rakhi.
