26-year-old woman, son killed in accident after scooter loses control

PALAKKAD: A 26-year-old woman and her son were killed in an accident. The accident happened in the premises of Kizakanchery Kavu in Palakkad. The two dead have been identified as Anju of Mattumantha and her son Shreyas Sarath (2). Anju’s friend Surya Reshmi, who was pillion riding with her sustained injuries and is undergoing treatment at Rajiv Gandhi Hospital in Kallekkad.

They were on their way to see Varikkasseri Mana in Ottapalam from their home in Manthakkad. Anju lost control of the vehicle and rammed on to the pipes piled up on the roadside near Kizakanchery Kavu. The bodies of Anju and Shreyas have been kept at the district hospital. They will be handed over to their relatives after the postmortem.
