THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: All steps have been initiated to examine the fault of the F35 British fighter jet shifted to the hangar. Adani Company is likely to charge parking fee from the British authorities for the fighter jet in the airport. Considering the size of the F-35 aircraft, the daily fee will be from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000. The British fighter jet is in Thiruvananthapuram for the last 24 days.

An amount up to Rs 2 lakh should be paid to the airport to land the aircraft. In addition to the F-35 fighter jet, landing charges will also have to be paid for the Airbus A400M Atlas aircraft that arrived from Britain with an expert team the other day.

A 14-member technical expert team that arrived from Britain has started inspections. The expert team includes engineers from the American company Lockheed Martin, the manufacturer of the aircraft, and the British Army. They are staying in a private hotel in the city. There is also strict security to ensure that the information during the inspection is not leaked. Though the aircraft has been shifted to the hangar, the high-level security provided by the CISF for the aircraft continues.

The British fighter jet landed at the Thiruvananthapuram airport on June 14 due to low fuel and a hydraulic snag. This aircraft was part of the British HMS Prince of Wales Carrier Strike Group, which had completed a joint exercise with the Indian Navy.
