
KOZHIKODE: The Railways has allowed two special trains to Kerala during the Christmas and New Year festive season. The Vadodara-Kottayam Special from Gujarat and the Cherlapalli-Mangalore Special from Telangana have been announced. Both trains are via Malabar.
Vadodara Special
There will be a train service from Vadodara to Kottayam on all three Saturdays till January 10. The train will depart at 9 am and reach Kottayam at 7 pm on Sunday. It will depart from Kottayam at 9:30 pm on Sunday and reach Vadodara at 6.30 am on Tuesday. It will have stops at Kasaragod, Kannur, Thalassery, Kozhikode, Tirur, Shoranur, Thrissur, Aluva and Ernakulam North.
Cherlapalli Special
The train will depart Cherlapalli at 11.30 pm on the 24th and 28th and will reach Mangalore at 6.05 am on the 26th and 28th. The train will depart Mangalore at 9.55 am on the 26th and 30th and will reach Cherlapalli at 5 pm the next day. It will have stops at Palakkad, Shoranur, Tirur, Kozhikode, Vadakara, Thalassery, Kannur and Kasaragod.
Additional coaches: During peak hours, one coach each has been added to the Mangalore-Chennai Egmore, Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram Express, Kozhikode-Thiruvananthapuram Jan Shatabdi and Thiruvananthapuram-Kozhikode Jan Shatabdi.
