RIYADH: Fathima, mother of Abdul Rahim, native of Kodampuzha in Kozhikode, who is lodged in a jail in Saudi Arabia, visited her son. The mother and son met after 18 years. The prison in Riyadh witnessed emotional moments. Along with Abdul Rahim's mother, his brother Naseer and uncle visited him. Fathima, who returned to Riyadh after performing Umrah, met Rahim at al-Iskcon prison on Al Kharj Road in Riyadh. Though Fathima had come to meet her son the other day, Rahim refused to meet her in jail. Rahim told his friends that he did not meet his mother because his mind did not allow him to meet her in jail. The two met on Monday morning at the insistence of Fathima. After the meeting in jail, Fathima and Abdul Rahim's brother Naseer reached the Indian Embassy in Riyadh.
The court will hear Rahim's case again on The 17th. The family had arrived in Riyadh through some individuals without informing the legal aid committee. It was after 18 years that Fathima came to see Rahim. However, Rahim was not ready to see her. She was accompanied by her relatives, including her brother. They reached the jail with the permission of the governor. Fathima burst into tears when Rahim told her he did not to see her son. With this, the jail authorities tried to show him through video conferencing.
