THODUPUZHA: Minister Roshy Augustine met the family of Amar Elahi, a 22-year-old youth killed in a wild elephant attack. He responded that the government will do everything possible to prevent attacks from wild animals. The minister informed that there will be a special plan in the Idukki package and for this he will consult with the forest department.

Amar Elahi's body was laid to rest at the Mullaringad Juma Masjid Monday morning at around 9.15 am. The people showed great anger against the minister and other people's representatives who came to the place. Elephants are always seen in the area. The people's representatives had the other day demanded action to install a solar fence here and ensure the service of the RRT team.

Meantime, a hartal is being observed in Vannappuram against the wild elephant attacks. The hartal is being led by the LDF, UDF and the NDA. The first installment of the financial assistance announced by the government will be given to the family of Amar today. Amar was the only hope of the family.
