Ameer covered his face with helmet, still Shailaja recognised him; Palakkad native arrested

THRISSUR: A youngster was arrested for snatching away a gold necklace from a woman devotee near a temple in Thrissur. The necklace was snatched near the temple in Mala Kuruvilassery. Muhammed Ameer (30) of Katambazhipuram, Palakkad, was arrested in the case.

The theft took place on August 1st. Ameer and another person arrived on a scooter, broke the necklace and fled. It is reported that the police have received clear indications about the person who was with Ameer.

Shailaja, a native of Kuruvilassery, identified Ameer as the culprit. The accused was taken to the scene, and evidence was collected. Police also said that Ameer, an accused in drug cases, including MDMA, had served jail terms. A special team led by Mala SHO Sajin Sasi conducted the investigation. They also examined several CCTV cameras and identified the accused.
