NILAMBUR: UDF candidate Aryadan Shoukath has increased his lead to 8,000 after counting eleven rounds of votes. Shoukath, who has been ahead since the first round, has often been unable to make a strong wave in the UDF-ruled panchayats as he thought. P V Anvar has shown a better performance in these panchayats. Anvar has presently won more than 13,000 votes. Anvar who gathered the crucial votes of the UDF in the first round, he later showed his influence in the LDF-ruled panchayats as well.
However, P V Anvar claimed that what he won was not the UDF's but the LDF's crucial votes. Anvar is in third place after the UDF and the LDF.
Anvar said that ministers and other public representatives who came to campaign in the constituency saying that he would get 3000 votes changed their minds the night before that they would get up to 8000. His fight is against Pinarayi's ideology. The problems in the hilly region are active in 63 constituencies and 489 panchayats in the state. He warns that if any front thinks that it can easily form a government in 2026 without facing these issues, it will not happen. Anvar said that after the elections, there will be a strong intervention in the state by including the hilly farmers.
Meantime, KPCC President Sunny Joseph MLA hinted that there may be further discussions with Anvar. He admitted that there was a slight decrease in the UDF's votes and expressed confidence that he would get a majority of between 10,000 and 15,000.
