'Are you on the side of women or rapists': PK Sreemathy slams Priyanka Gandhi

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: All India Democratic Women's Association (AIDWA) National President PK Sreemathy has criticised Priyanka Gandhi for not responding to a rape complaint filed against Congress MLA Rahul Mamkootathil.

'Why is the Wayanad MP not opening her mouth? Are you on the side of women or rapists? Answer Priyanka,' PK Sreemathi wrote on Facebook. The 23-year-old woman has filed a complaint against Rahul Mamkootathil with Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi and Sunny Joseph. However, Priyanka has not responded to the issue yet.

Rahul Mamkootathil is still absconding in the case of sexually abusing the woman and forcing her to undergo an unscientific abortion. The case was registered on the complaint filed by the victim, including to the Chief Minister, that she was a victim of sexual assault.
Rahul Mamkootathil is the first accused in the case and Joby Joseph, a native of Adoor, Pathanamthitta, who was the Palakkad MLA's friend who brought the abortion medicine, is the second accused. Rahul Mamkootathil has been charged with rape, which carries a sentence of up to life imprisonment.
