KOVALAM: A youngster, who was undergoing treatment after being stabbed during a ruckus inside a bar in Kovalam, died on Tuesday. Sujith (22), son of Sunil and Ajitha, of Kollamthara Mannathara house near the Thiruvallam toll plaza, died in the incident. The fight took place at the Diamond Palace Bar in Vazhamuttom around 12.30 am on Sunday.

A few weeks ago, Sujith and Akhil, a native of Vazhamuttom, had a faceoff at a festival at the Panathura Subramanya Swamy Temple. This enmity resulted in the bar ruckus. Sujith had deep wounds on chest and stomach. The youngster, who felt unconscious, was first admitted to a private hospital in the city and then to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital.

Despite seeking ventilator support, Sujith died at 2.30 pm on Tuesday.

Akhil and Akhilesh of Surabhi Vilas in Vazhamuttom, Ranjith alias Kuttan of Pachalloor and Nandu of Pachalloor were arrested by the Thiruvallam police the other day. Sujith's body will be released today after the postmortem.
