KANNUR: A bar in Kerala has been slapped with a fine of Rs 25,000 for cheating customers by serving less liquor than the prescribed quantity. Pratheeksha Bar at Pazhayangadi in Kannur was penalised for tampering with liquor measurements.
Officials found that customers were initially served the correct quantity. However, once the staff believed the customers were intoxicated, the measure was reduced. Instead of the standard 60 ml measure, a 48 ml measuring glass was used to serve liquor. The violation was detected during an inspection, following which authorities imposed the fine.
