THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actress Bhavana has responded to reports claiming that she would contest the upcoming assembly elections as a CPM candidate. The rumours had been widely discussed on social media, and some media outlets had also reported the same. Now, ahead of the release of her new film Anomie, Bhavana has clarified the issue in an interview given to a radio channel.
“News about me contesting in the assembly elections is completely fake. I don’t know how such a story came out. There is no truth in it at all. I couldn’t help but laugh when I saw the news. It turned out to be a big joke,” Bhavana said. She also added that she had already clarified the matter through social media.
Anomie, in which Bhavana plays the lead role and is also a co-producer, is set to release on January 30. The film is written and directed by debutant Riyas Marath. Anomie is the 90th film in Bhavana’s career. Bhavana plays the role of Sara, a forensic analyst, in the emotional mystery thriller. Actor Rahman appears in another important role in the film. Other cast members include Binu Pappu, Vishnu Agasthya, Arjun Lal, Shebin Benson, and Drishya Raghunath. The film’s cinematography is handled by Sujith Sarang, while editing is done by Kiran Das.
