Twist in Palakkad college teacher's death: Police examining more CCTV footage

PALAKKAD: Police made a shocking conclusion in the death of a college teacher during Onam celebrations the other day. Ancy (36), wife of Vipin and HOD of AJK College, Coimbatore, and a native of Chakkanthara Gaze K Colony, died in the incident.

CCTV inspection did not find any other vehicles behind the scooter. According to the initial investigation, the accident occurred when the scooter, which lost control, crashed into the divider and fell onto the service road. To clarify this matter further, CCTV footage from other places is also being examined at the instructions of relatives. By the time of completion of the investigation, the cause of the accident will be clear, said Walayar Inspector NS Rajeev.

The accident took place near the Puthussery Panchayat office in Kanjikode on Monday morning at around 11 am. Ancy's right arm was severed in the accident. The Walayar police and locals, who arrived at the scene, rushed her to the hospital. After receiving initial treatment at the district hospital, Ancy died while being shifted to a private hospital in Coimbatore for specialist treatment. Ancy leaves behind her children, Austin and Alston.
