Bihar's 'Robinhood' seeks meeting with wife, President of Zilla Parishad; requires top-notch lawyer

KOCHI: 'Bihar's Robinhood,' Muhammad Irfan aged 35 who burgled director Joshi's residence, desires to meet his wife Gulshan Parveen, the president of the Zilla Parishad.

Yesterday morning, the police notified Gulshan Parveen about Irfan's arrest, but her response was indifferent. Gulshan serves as the president of Zilla Parishad in Sitamarhi, Bihar. The police anticipate hiring a lawyer to secure her husband's release, as they have done in previous arrests.

The police are probing the owner of the Maharashtra registered Honda Accord car that Irfan stole. The car bears a Zilla Parishad President's plaque. The special investigation team also interrogated Irfan yesterday. They confirmed that the burglary was confined to Joshi's house and that no other homes were targeted in Kerala. As the custody period concludes today, Irfan will be presented in court tomorrow morning.

Irfan will not insert a SIM card into his smartphone. He relies solely on WiFi and may use an internet dongle. He avoids mobile payments. After consuming biryani, he received a Rs 500 note at a hotel in Panambilli Nagar.

Jewels presented in court

Jewelry worth Rs 1.20 crore, recovered from the car, was exhibited in court. The court will accept these items after the completion of the appraiser's evaluation, either today or tomorrow and will assign a thondi number. Joshi will retrieve the jewelry within a week if he files a claim appeal. The stolen items include 74 pieces, such as a diamond necklace worth Rs 25 lakh, 10 diamond earrings worth Rs 8 lakh, 10 rings, 10 gold necklaces, 10 bangles, and 10 high-value watches.
