BJP leader found dead after being hit by train

PAYYANUR: A BJP leader was found dead after being hit by a train at Payyanur in Kannur. He has been identified as Thampan (57) of Aravanchal in Payyanur. Thampan is BJP state council member and a trader in Aravanchal.

His body was found on the railway track near the overbridge in Payyanur Saturday morning. Thampan, a native of Thavidisseri shifted to Aravanchal only recently. Police reached the spot and shifted the body to the hospital. He leaves behind his wife Shyamala and children Shweta, Krishna and Mridul Lal.
