21-year-old journalism student jumps in front of train in Thiruvananthapuram

THIRUVNANTHAPURAM: A 21-year-old youngster ended his life by jumping in front of a train in Maranallur, Thiruvananthapuram. Deepu (21), a journalism student at Christ Nagar College, Maranallur, was found dead after jumping in front of a Kochuveli-Nagercoil passenger train at around 7:30 this morning.

There are indications that Deepu was distressed over not being able to write the journalism exam last month. Police believe this might have led to his suicide. The body has been shifted to the Medical College Hospital after conducting an inquest. The Maranallur police have started an investigation into the incident.
