
KOCHI: A car caught fire near the Brahmapuram waste plant in Vadavucode, Ernakulam. The incident took place at around 11.30 pm on Monday. There were three people inside the car. A major disaster was averted as all of them got out of the car after noticing smoke rising from the vehicle. The fire spread to the nearby puramboke land where the car was parked. It later spread to a nearby forest area and to an electricity line. The covering of the power line was damaged in the fire. Fire and rescue personnel from Thrikkakara arrived at the scene and brought the fire under control.
