Case against CPM activists for trying to kill Youth League leader with deadly weapons

KANNUR: The police have registered a case against CPM workers for attacking a youth league leader. The incident happened at Peringome in Kannur. The case is against seven CPM workers. The FIR says the activists tried to kill him with deadly weapons. Youth League district secretary Shajeel Iqbal was beaten last afternoon while waving black flags towards the health minister.

Meantime, six Youth League workers who showed black flags against the minister in front of the Kannur AKG Hospital have also been remanded. Charges including destroying the flag post in front of Minister Veena George's vehicle, have been imposed against them. Youth League district president K K Shinaj, treasurer Shabir Edayannur, secretary Ashkar Kannadiparamba, Jabir, Nizam and Nihal Irikkur have been remanded.
