Casting couch complaint against asst director; Dulquer Salmaan's Wayfarer Films clears air

KOCHI: A woman filed a complaint against actor Dulquer Salmaan's production company, Wayfarer Films, alleging a casting couch. The complaint was filed against Associate Director Dinil Babu at the Ernakulam South Police Station. Wayfarer Films also filed a complaint against Dinil Babu at the Thevara Police Station and FEFKA for defamation. The production company clarified that they don’t have any contract with Dinil, nor was he part of any projects of Wayfarer.

As per the complaint, Dinil Babu called the actress to the office in the pretence of discussing a movie to be bankrolled by Wayfarer movies. She was asked to reach a building just near Wayfarer's office in Panampilly Nagar. Dinil tried to molest and assault the budding actress after a few minutes of talk inside the room. The complaint also states that Dinil threatened to cut short her career if she did not comply.

Meanwhile, Wayfarer Films announced in a press release that casting calls will be done only through the official page of Dulquer Salmaan or Wayfarer Films and asked aspiring actors and technicians not to fall for the fraud.
