Change in rain alert again, chance of thundershowers in six districts of Kerala in the next few hours

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Another change in rain alert in the state. The Met Office has forecast thundershowers and strong winds in six districts of Kerala in the next few hours. Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Palakkad and Malappuram districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall. The Met Office has warned of strong winds of up to 40 kmph in these districts.

The rains are likely to continue in the state till June 1. Yellow alert has been declared in Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur districts today. The yellow alert was issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Idukki and Thrissur districts for tomorrow. These areas may receive 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm of rainfall in 24 hours.
