'Choosing not to take the legal route does not mean everything is closed', issues I raised will not simply disappear, says Rini Ann George

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Actress Rini Ann George has reiterated that she will not be pursuing legal action regarding her allegations against MLA Rahul Mamkootathil. However, she clarified in an Instagram post that the issues she raised are genuine and will not simply disappear. Her response came after reports claimed that the complainants, including the young actress, had informed the Special Investigation Team (SIT) that they would not proceed with legal steps.

'I had already made it clear that I will not be going ahead legally. My intention was to highlight the problems that ordinary women face when they enter any field. The law only deals with evidence and procedures, but real change has to come from society. The fight will continue. People who take money to support and protect wrongdoers may go on with their actions. Choosing not to take the legal route does not mean everything is closed,' Rini wrote.

She also added that she takes the cyber attacks against her as a form of respect. 'These paid attacks are happening only because the points I raised have hit where it hurts,' she said.
