KOLLAM: A CPM leader raised serious allegations of rogue treatment from police officers in Kannanalloor station. Nedumbana North local secretary Sajeev talked about his horrific ordeal through a Facebook post. Sajeev says that the CI harassed him for no reason when he came to mediate a case. Sajeev said that he meant no harm to the party with his social media post and even said he was prepared to face the consequences if the party thinks otherwise.
Sajeev’s Facebook post alleging custodial torture by Kerala police amplifies the Congress allegations on the same. Youth Congress leader VS Sujith was inhumanely tortured inside Kunnamkulam station in Thrissur in 2023, which sparked a protest a few days before. The congress even walked towards the house of the accused police officer in protest.
KPCC President Sunny Joseph said in a press conference that the Congress will hold a march to all police stations in the state on the 10th, demanding strict action against those involved in the Thrissur custodial torture incident. Sunny Joseph said that no matter how much compensation is given to Sujith, the defamation and harassment will not be resolved. The press conference came after Sunny Joseph spoke to VS Sujith at the DCC office.
