ALAPPUZHA: Chief Minister, who was participating in various programs in Alappuzha today, left the district without meeting estranged leader G Sudhakaran. Earlier, there was news that the CM would meet Sudhakaran in a bid to persuade him to renew the party membership. However, after inaugurating the AC Road in Mankombu near Sudhakaran's house, the Chief Minister headed to the inauguration site of the Perumbalam Bridge. After receiving confirmation that the chief minister would not be visiting him, G Sudhakaran removed the live broadcast of the inauguration from his Facebook page. Sudharakan blamed his admin for the gaffe of posting the link without seeking permission.

G Sudhakaran was the Public Works Minister when he prepared the design of the Perumbalam Bridge, the longest bridge in the state, built across the backwaters.

Public Works Minister Mohammed Riyas had invited G Sudhakaran to attend the event over the phone. However, Sudhakaran cited his leg injury as a hindrance. It is being assessed that the inclusion of his name in the notice was part of a persuasion move, even though G Sudhakaran had informed that he would not be able to attend the event.

As part of the persuasion move yesterday, party central committee member C.S. Sujatha and district secretariat member and Sudhakaran's relative G. Harishankar met the leader at his house in Paravur for more than an hour.
