Congress activist bleeds to death after varicose vein bursts while campaigning

CHAMPAKULAM; A Congress activist bled to death while campaigning for the local body polls. The dead is Raghu (53) of Kurukayil house at Champakulam in Alappuzha. The cause of death was massive bleeding after rupture of the varicose vein. Reghu did not notice this. The incident happened in the announcement vehicle during the election campaign of UDF candidate Udayakumar of district panchayat Punnapra division.


Raghu was the mic operator in the announcement vehicle. While traveling in the campaign vehicle, he did not know that his varicose vein had burst and was bleeding. Since he was in the vehicle, no one else noticed this. Raghu felt uneasiness after the reception according to the candidate. When he tried to get out of the vehicle, he realized that he was bleeding.


He was immediately taken to the Champakulam Government Hospital, but had already died. Raghu was active in the activities of the Congress and INTUC in the region. He leaves behind his wife Sindhu and children: Visakh (Qatar), Vichu and daughter-in-law Arundhati.
