Congress leaders in Palakkad turn against Rahul Mamkootathil and Shafi Parambil

PALAKKAD: Congress leaders in Palakkad have stepped forward against Rahul Mamkootathil MLA and Shafi Parambil MP. The two are like pick pocketers in festival venues and huge amount of funds arrived during the by-election. Many including leaders are demanding a clarification on this amount. They demanded that Rahul clarify where he got the money to buy a car after elected MLA and said that they had initially opposed his candidature due to his bad character.

Rahul Mamkootathil resigned as Youth Congress president in the wake of the allegations levelled by a young actress. Meantime, despite the allegations against Rahul, Shafi Parambil MP has not yet responded. There are allegations that Shafi shielded Rahul every time. Shafi has been in his flat in Delhi since yesterday morning and did not even go to the Parliament. He left for Bihar in the evening. The explanation is that he went to participate in the voter rights campaign led by Rahul Gandhi.

After Rahul resigned as Youth Congress president, there is disagreement against Shafi in the party. There have also been complaints within the party that Shafi has been protecting Rahul. In Palakkad, a section of Congress and Youth Congress workers have complained to the high command about this. The workers said that Shafi, who pressured for Rahul’s candidature, has not responded even after being informed of the complaints.
