CPM confident of resolving Prem Kumar issue amid Congress candidacy call in Kazhakkoottam

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Congress has intensified its efforts to bring Prem Kumar, who is at odds with the government for removing him from the post of Chalachitra Academy chairman without informing him, to their fold. Meanwhile, the CPM is making intensive efforts to resolve the issue with Prem Kumar through persuasion. The congress believes that he is a good candidate. CPM district secretary V Joy MLA said Prem Kumar will not join the Congress.

Joy said Prem Kumar will continue as a fellow traveller of the Left. The party will talk to him and that no path is closed and there are many ways ahead. Prem Kumar's issue can be solved by talking. Tried to contact him soon after seeing his Facebook post but could not reach him. He was removed from the post of Academy chairman as his term expired, said Joy.

Kadakampally Surendran MLA had the other day visited Prem Kumar's house in Thiruvananthapuram. However, Kadakampally was not able to meet him in person as he was not at home.
