PALAKKAD: Former CPM district secretariat member and CITU district president P K Sasi has been expelled from the party. He was removed from the primary membership of the CPM. The action was taken soon after he participated in the rebel convention held in Palakkad. While inaugurating the convention, Sasi levelled harsh criticisms against the district leadership. The party then expelled him from the party.

Sasi had pointed the mistakes of leaders from the grassroots to the district committee members. He addressed Palakkad district secretary E N Suresh Babu as a spirit seller.

His words in rebel convention

'Many including former area secretaries of the CPM are participating in this convention. We see the face of a team capable of leading the Communist Party with dedication. This is not a convention of rebels, but a convention of revolutionary communists. We did not come here willingly. The situation in Palakkad district forced us to do this.

The atrocities shown by some leaders in Palakkad in the name of party administration can never be justified. I do not want to explain any of that corruption. As V D Satheesan said, the party secretary is being decided in a drinking session.
