THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A case has been registered against Fenni Ninan, a Congress worker and a friend of MLA Rahul Mamkootathil, for allegedly cyber harassing the woman who had filed a complaint against the MLA. The Pathanamthitta Cyber Police registered the case following a complaint by the woman.

According to the police, Fenni Ninan posted content on Facebook revealing the woman’s private chats. In the post, he claimed that the woman, who had alleged that she was raped in 2024, had asked to meet the MLA privately three months ago. He also questioned the logic behind such a request in his post.

Meanwhile, Fenni Ninan said that he would face the case legally. He stated that he was confident he had not violated any law and added that he would approach the High Court against the registration of the case.

In a related development, MLA Rahul Mamkootathil was sent to judicial custody at the Mavelikkara Special Sub Jail after the end of his police custody. BJP and Yuva Morcha workers staged protests in front of the jail. Before being produced in court, Rahul was taken to the Pathanamthitta General Hospital for a medical examination. Heavy police security was deployed in view of the large protests reported earlier. The Thiruvalla court will consider Rahul Mamkootathil's bail plea tomorrow.
