Director Vinu mayoral candidate of Kozhikode Corporation? Congress’ announcement soon

KOZHIKODE: The congress is planning to field director V M Vinu as the mayoral candidate for Kozhikode Corporation in the local body polls. The party is likely to announce his candidature soon. Vinu is likely to contest from either Paroppadi or Chevayoor. The congress leadership held talks with Vinu regarding this. There are hints that he has agreed to contest. The congress has candidates in 49 seats of the corporation.

The congress may announce the first phase list of candidates including Vinu today. 23 out of 49 candidates will be announced today. Vinu has been living near the Kozhikode Civil Station for a long time. Vinu, the director of several hit films, often expresses his opinions on administrative matters.

Vinu, son of prominent writer and playwright Vinayan, was active in theatre during his studies. He later entered the film industry. He has directed films like Balettan, Vesham, Bus Conductor and Mayillattam.
