Disciplinary action against E P Jayarajan; removed from LDF convenor post, T P Ramakrishnan to replace

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: E P Jayarajan has been removed from the LDF convenor post. His relationship with BJP led to the action. Former minister and senior leader T P Ramakrishnan replaces EP. The decision was taken at the CPM state committee meeting.

E P Jayarajan while talking to the media said that he has nothing to say about the action taken and will inform when he has to. Ramakrishnan responded that he has not been informed of the party's decision. E P Jayarajan returned home in Kannur without participating in the CPM state committee.

The rift between the EP and the party has been evident over the past few months. EP has often made public responses that have put the party in crisis. His revelations about his meeting with Prakash Javadekar on the polling day morning had strained the party.

Many suspected that EP's choice to open up about the secret meeting on polling day itself was based on a secret understanding with the BJP. Some even said this openly. It was also alleged that there was a link between former union minister Rajiv Chandrasekhar's Niramaya Resort and E P Jayarajan's Vaidekam Resort.
