ALAPPUZHA: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that the move of forces to bring back divisive thoughts in a land where there is no caste discrimination and religious hatred should be opposed as a group. He was inaugurating a public meeting held at Dr. BR Ambedkar Nagar on the Alappuzha coast as part of the KPMS 54th state conference.
“Everyone wants a country without caste differences and religious hatred. We should think whether everyone is there among all those who have this desire. We should have the power to stand against those who stand against it. We should not give in. We should take a strong stand. There are many moves underway to undermine the state's renaissance values. Kerala is a state that stands apart as a result of the struggles waged by Renaissance leaders against superstitions and immoralities. What is the situation in our neighbouring states, where there were even stronger renaissance movements? Can these things continue there? Aren’t caste and religious discrimination continuing in all those places now? The proper follow-up to the renaissance movements in Kerala in the social and political arena is what made it a state without discrimination,” said the Chief Minister.

The resolutions for private sector reservation and implementation of caste census in the 24th Party Congress of the CPM are a hope for the backward and underprivileged sections," he said.
