Doctor of Kottarakkara dies after car loses control and falls into canal

KOTTAYAM: A young doctor died when his car lost control and fell into a canal. The dead has been identified as Amal Sooraj (33) of Ottappalam and a doctor of a private hospital in Kottarakkara. The locals saw the car in the canal early Friday morning. On being informed, the fire brigade from Vaikom arrived and pulled out the body from the canal. Amal was on his way to meet his friend in Ernakulam.

Police said the car may have veered off the road and plunged into the canal. Police said only the doctor was in the car. His body has been shifted to the Vaikom Taluk Hospital.
