Documents seized from AMMA office; Police ramps up investigation

KOCHI: The special team investigating the sexual assault case within mollywood completed the collection of evidence in the Kochi office of the Actors’ organization 'AMMA' and in some apartments. The inspection took place at 10;30 am on Sunday. It is indicated that the inspection was related to the case against Edvela Babu and Mukesh. The documents during Edavela Babu's tenure was also collected by the officers.

Meanwhile, police initiated action against director Ranjith following the complaint from the Bengali actress. The police reached the hotel in Kochi where the incident was alleged to have happened. The documentary director, a friend of the actress was also summoned to the hotel for evidence collection.

The Ernakulam North Police registered a case on the complaint of the actress and handed it over to the Special Investigation Team. In the complaint it is alleged that Ranjith misbehaved with her on the set of his movie ‘Paleri Manikyam’. The actress alleged that Ranjith touched her hair and later tried to run his hands through her body but she averted the advances after storming out of the room. The evidence gathering started in the afternoon and lasted for more than an hour.
