KOLLAM: M Mukesh MLA responded for the first time about the court verdict in the actress attack case. Mukesh said that he would comment on the questions only after receiving a copy of the verdict. The MLA was speaking to the media after casting his vote in Kollam today, at the first phase of polling for the local body elections.

Mukesh said he had no role in commenting about Dileep's acquittal as the government had clarified its stand on the case. Mukesh said that he was not assigned to speak about the case, and when asked if he was disappointed with the verdict, the MLA put to use his signature sarcasm to evade the query.

Mukesh said that he cannot help but respect the court's verdict and will stand by the government's decision to go for an appeal. In a final statement that brought more clarity, Mukesh said he would not like to see innocent people getting punished.
