THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Enforcement Directorate Deputy Director P Radhakrishnan was removed from service following allegations of bribery. The Finance Ministry asked him to resign from the service. The President signed the order on this basis last Friday. P Radhakrishnan, a Malayali officer, investigated the diplomatic gold smuggling case in 2020.

Radhakrishnan was currently working as a Deputy Director in Jammu and Kashmir. An internal investigation by the Finance Department found that many of the allegations against Radhakrishnan were true. Following this, the central government initiated steps forcing him into retirement.
