Eight-year-old girl admitted to hospital on suspicion of snakebite dies

KOZHIKODE: An eight-year-old girl, who was admitted to the Kozhikode Medical College Hospital on suspicion of a snakebite has died. The dead is Fathima Husna, daughter of U K Harris Sakhafi of Kozhikode Koduvalli Kareettiparamba Uralukandi. The child fell ill during a function held in Madavoor last Friday.

After finding her body in blue colour, she was admitted at the medical college hospital. Since she was in a critical condition, she was on ventilator and was being treated. The people there said they saw a snake crawling on the side where Fathima was standing. A postmortem will be conducted and only after that the cause of death would be clear. Fathima Husna was a fourth-class student of Manipuram UP School.
