THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Reserve Bank of India is conducting the Grade-B exam on the same day as the KAS main exam, which has come as a setback to the candidates. The KAS exam will be held on the 17th and 18th of this month. The first phase of the Reserve Bank exam is scheduled for the 18th and 19th. Grade B exam is the entry-level exam for officer positions at the Reserve Bank of India, similar to how the Civil Services exam is the gateway to the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). The date of the national-level exam was announced earlier. A section of those who have qualified for the KAS main exam is also writing Grade B. Those who give equal importance to both the exams are worried that they will miss out on the opportunity.
Candidates have submitted a petition to the PSC demanding the postponement of the KAS exam. However, the PSC pointed out that the KAS exam was announced earlier. 674 candidates are writing the main exam in three streams for the KAS exam. 308 candidates will write the first stream for the open category, 211 candidates will write the second stream for non-gazetted government employees, and 155 candidates will write the third stream. Since the Reserve Bank exam is at the national level, it will not be postponed. However, since the KAS exam is intended only for candidates from Kerala, the general demand is that the problem can be solved if it is postponed.
