KOCHI: The High Court has granted bail to the daughter of the sister-in-law of Chalakudy beauty parlour owner Sheela Sunny in the fake drug case. Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas granted bail to the second accused, Livia Jose (21) of Kalady. The High Court took into account her young age and the fact that she had been in jail for two months. The main conditions are a personal bond of Rs. 1 lakh and two sureties.

Sheela Sunny was arrested by the Chalakudy Excise on charges of finding LSD stamps on her scooter. Although expert examination revealed that what was seized was not narcotics, Sheela was remanded for 72 days. Investigation revealed that Livia had fabricated a fake drug case with the help of her friend Narayan Das due to a previous feud. Livia, who was arrested on June 13, is in remand.
