KANNUR: A child who was undergoing treatment for rabies has died in Kannur. The dead is five-year-old Harith. He was undergoing treatment at Pariyaram Medical College for the past two weeks. He had taken the anti-rabies vaccine on the day he was bitten by the dog.

Harith is the son of natives of Salem in Tamil Nadu. The child was bitten by the stray dog near the rented quarters in Payyambalam on May 31st. He was bitten on the right eye and left leg. He was immediately taken to the district hospital and vaccinated.

The meeting decided to deploy trained dog catchers under the ABC center in Padiyoor to catch all the stray dogs and put them in shelter homes within a week.
