Force Gurkha, Xpulse and Thar; 146 new vehicles for Kerala police

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan flagged off 146 new vehicles purchased for various police units at the SAP Parade Ground in the capital city. The police force received the Mahindra Bolero, Scorpio, Thar, Force Gurkha, Traveller, and Hero Xpulse motorcycles. These will be used in stations, control rooms, and for highway patrol sections.

44 Boleros will be used for strengthening patrols and maintaining law and order. 40 Scorpio vehicles will be used for highway police patrols. 15 Gurkha and five Thar vehicles will be used for patrolling in hilly areas. 24 Hero XPulse motorcycles will be used for day and night patrols. The function was attended by Police Chief Ravada Chandrasekhar, ADGPs S. Sreejith, P. Vijayan, H Venkatesh, Dinendra Kashyap and senior police officers.

The Chief Minister's Awards for the Best Police Stations of 2024 were also distributed. Muhamma Police Station in Alappuzha district won first place, Kodungallur Station in Thrissur Rural got second place, and Bekal Station in Kasaragod got third place.
