THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Sandeep Varier, who quit the BJP and joined the congress party, has been appointed as KPCC spokesperson. Party general secretary M Liju in a letter to the leaders said party state president K Sudhakaran has taken a decision to include him in the list of Congress spokespersons. From now on, Sandeep Varier will also participate in channel debates on behalf of the Congress.

Advocate Deepthi Mary Varghese is in charge of KPCC media wing. Reports said the party leadership has assured Sandeep Varier of more posts in the party reorganization. Unconfirmed reports said that there was a move by a team led by Sandeep Varier to bring BJP councilors, who held a rebel meet in Palakkad municipality, to the congress.

Meantime, Sandeep Varier came forward against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's statement the other day. Sandeep came to the fore against the chief minister's statement that the demand for a metro from Tirur to Nilambur will not happen even in the next decade. Sandeep criticized the chief minister for insulting the demand of Tirur MLA Kurukkoli Moideen in the assembly.

The first railway line in Kerala was from Beypore to Tirur. Malappuram is a district where all modern facilities are available. None of that is at the expense of the government. Sandeep wrote on Facebook that these developments were by investing the hard-earned money of the people of Malappuram.
