Global Ayyappa Sangamam was a huge success; empty chairs created by AI, says M V Govindan

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Despite criticism, CPM state secretary M V Govindan said the Ayyappa Sangamam was a global success. 4600 people attended where 3000 were supposed to attend. M V Govindan said that anything else is fake propaganda. He said the images of empty chairs are created by the AI. The CPM state secretary said the claim of the media that the Sangamam was a failure is a propaganda and that they have no shame or dignity in talking utter nonsense and in spreading lies.

Meantime, the Sabarimala Protection Sangamam organized by Hindu organizations will be held tomorrow in Pandalam. This event is being organized in place of the Global Ayyappa Sangamam organized by the state government. The main theme of the Sangamam is 'Sabarimala, Faith, Development'. The seminar to be held in the morning will be inaugurated by former Tamil Nadu BJP state president Annamalai.

A gathering of devotees will also be held in the afternoon. The Sabarimala Karma Samithi is leading the programme. Opposition parties had alleged that the Global Ayyappa Sangamam organized by the state government was a failure. However, the devaswom minister had also said that the event was a great success and more people than expected had participated.
