KOZHIKODE: Gold ornaments obtained as offering have gone missing from a temple in the district. Gold of 20 sovereigns has gone missing from Balussery Kotta Sri Paradevatha Temple in Kozhikode. This temple comes under the Malabar Devaswom.

The ornaments were found missing in an inventory check by Sajeevan, the executive officer and custodian of the gold ornaments. Soon Sajeevan sent a notice to former executive officer Vinod. However, Sajeevan did not get a clear reply. Four different executive officers were in charge of the temple over the last three years.

Officers Haridasan and Dinesan, who came after Sajeevan had found the gold missing and had issued notices to the former officers. The gold went missing years ago. When the issue stoked a controversy, Vinod has informed the officer bearers that the gold will be returned by tomorrow.
