Govt with family, says Health Minister Veena George after visiting Bindu’s house

KOTTAYAM: Health Minister Veena George visited the house of Bindu, who died after the old building of Kottayam Medical College collapsed on Thursday afternoon. The minister consoled Bindu's mother. The minister said the grief of Bindu's family is her own. The government is with Bindu's family and the chief minister had spoken about this and will announce it after the cabinet meet. Appropriate decisions will be taken. The minister also clarified that a decision will be taken on all the demands demanded by the family.


Bindu's husband Vishruthan requested Minister Veena George to provide medical facilities to his daughter and son a permanent job. The minister replied that she had spoken to the chief minister about it and that an appropriate decision would be taken. The minister informed that a special medical board has been formed for her treatment and that arrangements to start treatment on Monday itself will be taken.

Minister V N Vasavan had visited Bindu's house in Thalayolaparambu the other day. Rs 50,000 was handed over as financial assistance. He had also informed that Bindu’s daughter’s surgery will be conducted at the medical college hospital the next day and the government will bear the full expenses. The hospital development committee will provide a temporary job to the son. The minister had also stated the other day that the cabinet meeting to be held on July 11 will announce financial assistance to the family based on the report of the district collector.
