The archaic idea of marriage, love and compassion is on its last days in India. The country, known for its low divorce rates and indomitable trust between married partners, is showing signs of adopting a new rule book. Discreet relationships are reportedly rising among married couples, and the Gleeden app users' data vindicates it.

As per reports, the application has crossed four million users in India, a country where marriage is considered sacred. Another surprise comes from the fact that almost 35 per cent of the users are women.

The app reports suggest that the number of women users has grown by nearly 148 per cent. The city-wise data suggest that Bengaluru is leading with users forming up to 18 per cent. Hyderabad and Mumbai are in second and third spot. Delhites take the fourth position.

The app survey suggested that women prefer men in the age group of 40s, while men prefer married women in their late 20s. It is also reported that women in the app prefer elite white-collar professionals, including doctors and chartered accountants.

The survey also suggested that the lack of emotional connection, physical intimacy and stress has forced many to seek respite in the application. The survey also suggested that as many as 42 per cent of women are into physical infidelity. Many opined that such discreet relationships have helped them bring back excitement in their otherwise languid married life.
