'I remember everything they did; why should I go to the program of those who tried to attack me?'

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has declined an invitation to inaugurate the Fourth Loka Kerala Sabha, expressing dissatisfaction with the state government and its treatment of constitutional institutions. The decision was conveyed to Chief Secretary Dr V Venu during a meeting at the Raj Bhavan.

Dr. Venu visited the governor as instructed by the Chief Minister, relaying the government's request for the governor to inaugurate the Loka Kerala Sabha, scheduled to start on the 13th. In response, Governor Khan questioned why he should participate in an event organized by those he felt had previously tried to attack him. He highlighted his absence from previous Loka Kerala Sabha events and criticized the government for belittling constitutional institutions, including the legislature.

The governor expressed his deep dissatisfaction with the government's actions and reiterated his decision not to inaugurate the event. When the Chief Secretary explained that he was merely a messenger for the government, the governor retorted, "Go and tell those who sent you."

Governor Khan also brought up past incidents involving protests by the SFI against his appointments of vice-chancellors, noting that the protests were defended by nine ministers as democratic actions. He accused the Loka Kerala Sabha and Keraleeyam of being driven by promiscuous and greedy motives.
