IMD warns of heavy rainfall in Kerala on these two days, yellow alert sounded in four districts

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the state on October 10 and 11. A yellow alert has been announced in four districts on October 10-Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kannur districts. There is a yellow alert in two districts on October 11th. Yellow Alert has been declared in Ernakulam and Idukki districts on this day. The IMD has also informed that there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places in Kerala on these two days.

There is also a warning of moderate rain with thunder and lightning over Pathanamthitta, Kottayam and Idukki districts in the next 3 hours. According to IMD, strong winds with a speed of up to 40 km per hour are also likely.

Rain forecast for the next 5 days

IMD has announced yellow alert in various districts.

10-10-2023 : Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur

11-10-2023 : Ernakulam, Idukki

A chance of isolated heavy rain is forecast. Heavy rains mean rainfall of 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in 24 hours.
