THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: According to the survey conducted by the YouTube channel of Kerala Kaumudi, UDF has a slight advantage in the Lok Sabha elections in the state. The status after the completion of the submission of nomination papers was checked in the survey. The first phase of the Fronts' election campaign, which began on March 16, has been completed with the submission of nomination papers. The survey was conducted when the second phase of the campaign was about to start from yesterday.
Many issues have been discussed in the field of election campaigns, starting with the CAA issue, Centre's financial neglect towards the state, Modi government's threat to secularism, Manipur issue, new developments in TP Chandrasekaran case, problems in Pookode Veterinary University and the new appointment controversy in Kozhikode Medical College. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan's speech against the Citizenship Amendment Act in 11 districts created a significant stir in the campaign.
UDF has a slight upper hand in almost all constituencies. It is indicated that the BJP will improve its position in seven constituencies including Kasaragod, Attingal, Thiruvananthapuram, Thrissur, Palakkad, Alathur and Pathanamthitta. UDF and BJP are campaigning neck and neck only in Kasaragod constituency. BJP is slightly ahead in other constituencies. BJP is creating a split in the UDF vote in these constituencies. Indications are that this may actually benefit the Left Front. However, the status may change in the next stages of the campaign.
